God bless Aunt Nina!

Whew! What a last few weeks. My Aunt and Uncle never had any children, so my siblings and I became their kids. They spoiled us rotten and filled in when our parents needed a babysitter. As we all became older and had children of our own, they became their grandchildren. My uncle passed away many years ago and Aunt Nina was alone. She became a victim of Alzheimer's and we had no choice but to put her in a nursing home. Early last week they called us and told us that she was failing fast. We spent many hours at her bedside talking to her, reading to her, singing to her, and just holding her hand. Yesterday I went around 7:00 AM to spend some time before going to work. At that time she didn't respond to anything that I did for her, so I knew time was short. I arrived at work at 9:00 AM, and at 9:20 AM they called and said she had passed away. We are rejoicing, she finally arrived home!

We are having visitation on Saturday and the funeral is going to be on Sunday. She left a huge legacy of memories and examples for her nieces and nephews. May she rest at peace in her mansion in Heaven!
